A Few Gems
Enjoy the natural parcourt with the ropes and ladders to get over rocks. There’s also the possibility for a cold swim in the mountain rivers.
Starting from the top of the cable car at la Creusaz, follow the single marked path towards le Luisin. It quickly becomes a narrow and steep trail that zig-zags up the mountain in some well-traced switchbacks. After having gained about 500m in elevation, the rocks and ropes start to appear. There is no reason to be afraid, the infrastructure is very well put in place. The last part is also composed of some ladders to ease the climb. Watch out near the summit nearer the colder seasons as there can be snow and even ice.
From here onwards, the rest of the hike is a piece of cake with jaw-dropping views. Follow the marked path down the other side of the summit. It mainly follows the rocky ridge with the view of les Dents du Midi and the Salanfe lake. At the intersection, it is possible to either take a left towards Les Chaux or head right to the Cold de la Golette. We personally went left following a winding path down the grassy hills surrounded by multitude impressive cliffs. The path then widened until you end up on a rocky road which you can follow all the way to les Marécottes. The other option, which I drew on the map, is to turn right unto a smaller trail which also goes to les Marécottes. There’s also the possibility to turn left and go back up slightly to la Creusaz where the lift can be taken down.
